The United States went into War with Mexico wanting over 500,000 square miles of new territory. They came away with nearly half of Mexico's previous national territory, including California, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and parts of several other current US states. The war ended February 2nd 1848, with more Mexicans passing away during the bloody massacre then Americans. People say that this war was a very bloody and a lot of deaths occurred. The Americans went into the war with more resources, and more weapons. The Mexicans had no idea what they were in for, and because of that, they lost both the war, and their land.
